Recent Advances in Soft Biological Tissue Manipulating Technologies

Abstract Biological soft tissues manipulation, including conventional (mechanical) and nonconventional (laser, waterjet ultrasonic) processes, is critically required in most surgical innervations. However, the tissues, with their nature of anisotropic viscoelastic mechanical properties, high biological heat sensitivities, are difficult to manipulated. Moreover, thermal induced damage on surface surrounding tissue during surgery can impair proliferative phase healing. Thus, understanding manipulation mechanism resulted importance community. In recent years, more scholars carried out researches cutting order improve performance instruments reduce damage. there a lack compressive review that focused advances manipulating technologies. Hence, this paper attempts provide an informative literature survey state-of-the-art processes surgery. This achieved by exploring recollecting different techniques currently used, mechanical, laser, ultrasonic advanced anastomosis reconstruction highlighting governing removal mechanisms as well subsurface damages.
